See, this I can support. I’d like to have a game that has a more equal representation, and this makes me feel much more supportive of it. Although I still have one little gripe with it. It says it’s a game for queer people and people of color. That sounds so exclusive, like if a white kid plays it, the game isn’t meant for them. The game itself should be able to reach all audiences, even if it is starring a queer people and people of color. Games are for everyone.
…anyone can play it?
It’s just not made specifically with them in mind?
im so confused right now wtf people
After constantly seeing shit like the bolded repeated over and over again on Arkh Project’s posts, I can safely say that people have forgotten how to read/pay attention, among other things.
Can’t have nothin’ without non-reading folk blabbering nonsense. All day.
reading is hard
also white people forget if they’re not reminded even ten seconds that they can play the game
I am having this conversation on my Facebook right now.
There’s a difference between a game that was not made for white people and a game that was made BUT THIS GAME, IT IS NOT FOR WHITE PEOPLE TO LOOK UPON OR PLAY MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA, and it’s just not worth the level of recursive reassurance that has to be encoded to avoid any possibility of hurt feelings.
I’ve personally started describing it as a game “made by and starring queer people of color” when I’m in a hurry because it sidesteps the troublesome “for”, but all this has really done is showed me that this isn’t a matter of wording because people still get up in arms.
i sincerely thought that “for” was good english but nupe apparently not because people would rather pick apart a single word they don’t like as it is way more important than the project itself
did i mention i hate crackers?
all of them
i even hate you right now a little bit and you know how much i love you so that’s weird
Are these people going to argue that most video games are not made “for” white, cis, straight dudebros? Seriously??
